My plans for next week include installing and trying out several Linux distributions. The first I'm trying is SAM Linux. This is a PCLinuxOS based distro with older, lower-spec machines in mind. The website for this distro claims it only requires at least 128mb of RAM and a 300mhz CPU. It sports Xfce4.4 desktop, Beryl/Xgl, Flash, Java, and RealPlayer.
Other distros on the agenda are Ubuntu 7.07 Beta (Fiesty Fawn), Linux Mint 2.2, and Sabayon Linux 3.3. Elive, which uses the Enlightenment windows manager, is also a possibility if the torrent ever finishes. It's incredibly slow. Which reminds me, anyone interested in a P2P share of any of these distros, let me know and we'll work something out.
